frosted treats - ETT SOTW

Aug 31 2010
This week's ETT SOTW (Etsy Twitter Team Shop of the Week) is frosted treats, featuring the creations of Jessica Mount. Since 2008, Jessica has used polymer clay to create delicious looking charms in the shape of cupcakes, cakes, cookies and flowers. The shops' products also include general accessories such as bookmarks, push pins and magnets.

Jessica says "Since clay is my medium, the possibilities of what I can create are only limited by my own imagination. That is why I LOVE custom orders. I love having someone ask for something abstract and being able to say, "Yup! I can do that!"

In addition to her Etsy shop, Jessica will be showing her creations at craft fairs and markets this holiday season. She's been sketching out some ideas for new holiday ornaments and gifts to carry in her etsy shop.

From 8/30-9/5 frosted treats is offering FREE SHIPPING (US/Canada) with no coupon needed
& a FREE GIFT gift to buyers who mention "Etsy Twitter Team" as the message to seller

Taking Care of Bizness or Yes I Can!

Aug 22 2010

I follow, like, tweet, retweet, post, share and accept every single person who wants to be my facebook friend.
I order moo minis, business cards, postcards and 100% recycled packaging material.
I network. I seek advice and give support.
I join teams and groups and create my own pages on the I Love Etsy, Do You Etsy?, Cafe Handmade Lounge and Craft Zone sites.
I am a member of Total Art Soul, Mixxmade, Plumdrop, Kaboodle, Tumblr and SoupSee.
I "advertise" on several blogs and Handmade Spark.
I create treasuries and photo mosaics that highlight the work of my fellow craftspeople and artisans.
I view, click and comment on other people's treasuries.

With the roll-out of the new shop format on etsy ( as I like to say, they've added width to the warmth and charmth!) I just rewrote my shop announcement to make sure everything appears above the fold.
I work hard to improve my facebook fan page interactions and reduce my "bounce rate."
I read blog posts that include specific ways to improve my web footprint. I bookmark sites that contain Top 10 lists of ways to improve my business or mistakes to avoid while conducting business.
I analyze my analytics and check my hearts and item views four times a day on Craftopolis.
I am trying to identify my niche. Towards this end, I tag and re-tag, list and re-list.
I shoot, edit, crop, upload, describe, organize and "move to groups" my jewelry photos.
I find a motivational (that is also clever but not too sarcastic) quote to start my daily twittering. I am proud of my 97.2% twitter status and do everything in my power to maintain it.
I respond to convos and ship within 24 hours (unless I'm in vacation mode).
I post to the forums. I do not spam.
I enter contests and hold giveaways and tweetaways.
I run BOGO, BOGO 1/2 off and free shipping sales.

And I will do it all again tomorrow! I am threepeats...hear me ROAR!

in my head studios ~ ETT SOTW

Aug 17 2010
Our new ETT SOTW is in my head studios featuring altered mixed-media domino and game piece jewelry, microscope slide glass pendants and ACEOs (Art Cards Editions and Originals) by Vickie Porter.
In describing her work, Vickie admits, "I have a seriously good/bad relationship with perfectionism so my customers can rest assured they are getting top quality materials and artwork. It’s sometimes hard to tell in photos online, but the dominoes and microscope slide glass pendants have real tiny paper collages on them. I work with ridiculously small pieces of paper sometimes.

For her beautiful and intricate creations, Vickie gets her inspiration from colors, lines, and shapes. "I simply have to create or I’m not happy. It’s like needing air." It follows that Vickie is not confined by rules, but lets her inspiration and creativity run wild and while she may not stick to one medium, she admits, "Central to almost everything I do is paper. I love paper."

Vickie is happy to take custom orders and ships internationally.

To celebrate being the SOTW, in my head studios is offering
FREE shipping to ANYWHERE from August 16-22!
Discount refunded promptly via Paypal
No need for coupons or codes!

Most Favorite Aunt - New ETT SOTW

Aug 10 2010
The new ETT SOTW is Most Favorite Aunt (aka Pamela Ziemlewicz). The shop is full of “knits and flair,” from baby hats, coffee cup cozies and other knitted goods to pinback buttons—all adorable, all handmade, and “all me,” says Pamela. Don't you wish you had an aunt who could make things like these?

Her inspiration? “I'm pretty sassy. Usually I'll make some smart-alec remark and then think, ‘Oooh, that would make a cool...’” Her motivation? “I work a lot. At the end of a long day, I love turning on the boob-tube, and sitting down with some yarn and needles to relax.” She’d like to turn her craft into a full-time endeavor and dreams of quitting her day job…maybe by 2011!
Her upcoming plans? “Fall and Winter are always BIG seasons for me. Lots of people buying warm fuzzies. Lots of cold and yucky days to spend inside creating.” Look for an increased and ever-changing inventory!

This week Most Favorite Aunt is offering FREE (USA) SHIPPING on any Kid Knits in Stock!
Just put ETT SOTW in the "notes to seller" - Easy!

You can also follow Most Favorite Aunt on Twitter.

As an avid lover of books...their weight, their feel and even their smell, I refuse to believe that someday soon they will be gone entirely. But if it happens, at least these talented etsy artisans will continue to put the "relics" to good use.
